PLA vs PETG vs TPU - which material to choose?

Material choice is crucial for the functionality and durability of the print. Here are the three most popular FDM printing materials.
PLA (polylactic acid) is the most popular 3D printing material. It's biodegradable, easy to print, and available in many colors. Ideal for prototypes, decorative models, and gadgets. The downside is low temperature resistance (about 60°C) and UV sensitivity.
PETG combines the advantages of PLA and ABS. It's mechanically durable, resistant to water and chemicals, yet easy to print. Works well for functional elements, electronic enclosures, and parts exposed to moisture.
TPU is a flexible material with properties similar to rubber. Ideal for seals, protectors, phone cases, or shock-absorbing elements. Requires slower printing but offers unique properties.
